Long before the rise of mortal civilizations, the world was still raw and untamed. Deep beneath the crust of the planet lay the Abyssal Depths — a realm of molten rivers and endless darkness. It was there that Maerx, once a celestial guardian forged from magma and starlight, was bound by the gods after his betrayal.

Maerx had been tasked with maintaining the balance between creation and destruction. Yet, consumed by envy of the gods’ perfection, he sought to claim their divine flame for himself. When he struck the core of the world to steal its power, the heavens shattered his form — his heart crystallized into a cursed gem that now radiates destruction instead of life.

For eons, Maerx slumbered beneath layers of volcanic rock, imprisoned by divine seals. But as humanity mined deeper into forbidden lands and unleashed chaos upon nature, the balance weakened. The final tremors of greed echoed into the Abyss, breaking the silence — and Maerx awoke.

Now, he roams the shattered lands of his prison, searching for the last fragment of his seal, a relic known as the Shard of Origin. If he succeeds, the boundary between the Abyss and the mortal realm will collapse — and the Age of Flame and Ash will begin anew.
